Wordpress plugins you need to know for your blog business

There are thousands of plugins provided by wordpress to blogger parties to develop their blog, such is that once I use for my wordpress blog..And now, I'm going to share my favourite ones with you to enhance a visitors experience on the website and keep them coming back for more. These are in no particular order.

Register Plus Redux

This is a simple plugin for WP that enhances the registration experience. You can use your own logo instead of the default one that comes up. You can chose to verify users by making sure they click the activation link in their inbox reducing spam. All of this is fully customisable, you can make sure users verify their email by entering it twice.

As well as the default fields provided by the plugin that would needed on any registration fields; you can add your own custom fields too. I like how it uses AJAX to verify the strength of the password and has other features for error checking. You can use invitation codes, customise the styling and design of the emails making this a very powerful plugin.

Dave's WordPress Live Search

This is another great plugin and enhances the search experience on the site. Like on Apple's website, this one brings up results immediately using the power of jQuery. Get articles and pages appear after typing the first few letters of a query. This is fully customisable with the ability to use different styles as well as your own. This is a must have plugin for any professional website. It works with other plugins to enhance search results.

Smart 404

A very simple plugin that makes a big difference. It looks at the keywords typed in the URL when a 404 error occurs and uses it to search through pages and articles to find and redirect the page to something relevant instead of the standard 404 error page.

SexyBookmarks

A great social plugin for WordPress, especially in terms of user experience as it uses jQuery to make the icons hover. It supports almost every big social network out there. Nicely integrates with WP and is extremely flexible with its customisation.

This is a must have plugin for any WP website. It's simple by adding a set of related posts under your articles, if it can't find anything relevant it just replaces it with the most popular posts. It can be very useful when a user reads through an article and finds relevant information to what they were just looking at.

W3 Total Cache

I've saved the best for last because this has got to be the best plugin for enhancing UX, and it does that by reducing page load times which one of the most important factors to a website. It can take a while to set-up, but once this is done it can be quite effective using its advanced page caching, minifying CSS and Javascript while combining the files you want to.

It has a feature for using a CDN which greatly reduces loading times and has many other features too. This is an extremely powerful plugin and should be set-up properly in order for it to work well. Not to mention loading times affect your SEO scores too so check how it affects your PageSpeed and YSlow ratings, you'll be surprised!
